IHG Reports Strong Growth Momentum Across Global Markets
Hotel giant sees positive travel trends in Europe and Middle East while expanding brand portfolio and launching customer promotions
InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) is riding a wave of positive momentum across multiple fronts, with strong financial performance in 2025 and optimistic travel trends positioning the hotel giant for continued success.
Elie Maalouf, CEO of IHG, recently highlighted the company's robust performance, particularly in Europe and the Middle East regions. Speaking about the company's outlook, Maalouf expressed confidence about IHG's preparation for the upcoming World Cup, which is expected to drive significant hospitality demand in 2026.
The positive momentum extends beyond financial results to strategic expansion initiatives. IHG recently launched its 21st brand, Noted Collection, positioning it as a premium collection label. This expansion demonstrates the company's commitment to capturing diverse market segments and meeting evolving traveler preferences across different price points and experiences.
Customers are also benefiting from IHG's growth strategy through attractive promotional offers. The company recently launched a flash sale offering IHG One Rewards members up to 25% savings on stays between February 20 and April 30 at participating properties across its luxury, lifestyle, premium, essential and suite brands. The promotion, running through February 26, showcases IHG's commitment to providing value to loyal customers while driving occupancy across its diverse portfolio.
The company's expansion efforts are also gaining traction in key international markets. IHG recently signed a new 170-key Holiday Inn Express in Cockburn, Western Australia, set to open in September through a partnership with Australian development giant SKS Group. This addition strengthens IHG's pipeline in Western Australia and reflects the continued appeal of the Holiday Inn Express brand, which operates more than 3,275 hotels globally with 664 additional properties in development.
Cameron Burke, IHG's Director of Development for Australasia & Pacific, noted that midscale development continues to show "remarkable resilience in the face of macroeconomic headwinds," supported by consistent demand and efficient operating models. This resilience positions IHG well as global travel continues its recovery trajectory.
The convergence of strong regional performance, strategic brand expansion, customer-focused promotions, and international growth signals a company capitalizing on recovering travel demand while building for long-term success. With major sporting events like the World Cup on the horizon and continued expansion across key markets, IHG appears well-positioned to benefit from the ongoing revival in global hospitality.
